Biography:

Adonis is sired by the Dutch Riding Pony, Argentino.  Argentino’s sire, Orchard D’Avranche was the leading sire in the Netherlands for many years and is still one of the most desired pony stallions there.  Adonis is line-bred to Downland Folklore who is arguably the most famous foundation stallion in the Netherlands.  Although he was never at stud in Germany, 16 of his sons are licensed there, and he is still one of the leading sires in the German FN stallion ranking list.

Adonis’s dam, Mirage, is a Hanoverian German Riding Pony.  She produced “Mystique”, the full sister to Adonis who gained First Premium status under Dutch judges and was the highest scoring foal for all of Scotland.  Mirage’s sire, Voyage, has won jumping and dressage classes up to level L and participated at the Bundeschampionships.  In his first foal crop he produced the Reserve Champion of the Hanoverian Pony Stallion Licensing.  His dam, SPS Mago, was the Champion mare of Cloppenburg.  His sire, Valentino, is considered a Dutch foundation stallion.  Mirage’s dam, SPS Moonlight, won the class of the mares’ families at the National Mare Show in 1996.  At this same show her daughter, Moonlight Girl, became Champion of the younger mares.  Moonlight participated at the Bundeschampionships and has produced many licensed stallion sons and State Premium daughters.  Moonlight’s sire, Night-Star I, won his Stallion Licensing and Stallion Performance Test and then became the Reserve Bundeschampion of the jumping ponies.  At this time he was the most successful and desired stallion in Westphalia.  He produced many licensed stallions, among them several licensing champions, including the European Champion, Nelusko.  Many daughters were awarded the title of State Premium, and several were Champion or Reserve Champion of the Elite Mare Show in Westphalia.  He was sold to Brazil where he has continued his career.

2010 - Adonis was shown as a 2 Year Old in the USDF Breeder's Championship Series.  He qualified for the Regional Championship Finals, and placed 3rd at the Finals in a class of 6 - all warmbloods.

  • NDA Classic I :    73.5%
  • NDA Classic II :  75.9%
  • Mid-America Sport Horse Association : USDF Regional Championship Finals :  78.6%

2011 -  Adonis is being carefully and properly started under saddle by young horse trainer, Laney Wagner.  He is coming along beautifully and we plan to bring him out to clinics and shows this year.

September 7, 2011:

  • Adonis is approved for breeding and accepted into the Stallion Stud Book I with RPSI
  • Adonis' first foal: Fox Creek's Daisy Duke receives GOLD PREMIUM from RPSI
