Quettino is a solid pony in the mold of his father. Athletic, with a good chest and well put together, but elegant and spirited. Blessed with lovely movement full of strength and energy. He has a good topline typical of his maternal bloodlines. His conformation has all the good points of his sire, but with a better crest and more depth.

Jumping, he is quite simply spectacular. Proving he has huge scope, lots of respect and intelligence at take-off. He is a pony stallion with a big future in show jumping.

Biography:

• In 2008, Quettino jumped 3 clear rounds from 4 outings show jumping in the 4-year-old Cycle Classique classes ridden by Anaïs Barbier. Then, having passed to a new rider, Pauline Henry, in Autumn 2008, he was placed 3rd in D2, 1st in D1 and twice 1st in E2 out of 5 outings in Ponam.

• In 2009 as a 5-year-old he completed 7 clears from 7 rounds in Cycles Classique and was 4+0 at the finals, mention Excellent, IPO 142 in 2009.
With his young rider Margaux Populaire in Autumn 2009, from his first 4 outings in Ponam, he was placed 3rd in D3, 2nd in D2, 6th in D3 (of 68) and 1st in D2.

• In 2010 as a 6-year-old, Quettino was a winner in D1P and 46th/113 show jumping at the French Championships in D2P Excellence with Margaux Populaire, successfully took part in international young pony classes at the BIP with Robin Muhr (2nd on the Saturday), and achieved 6 clears from 8 rounds in Cycle Classique for 6-year-old D ponies with Pauline Henry, finishing 6th at the finals (4+0+0) with a mention Elite.

• In 2011 as a 7-year-old he started the season with several D2P’s before winning in E1P ridden by Pauline Henry. Ridden by Marine Quattrina since February 2011 he has started in D Elite and will equally be following the SHF 7-year-old Future Elite circuit.

For his first year at stud he covered a dozen mares via IAC, then fourteen in 2009.

His first foal in sporting activity, Shining Why de Florys, a very handsome and energetic C pony who moves beautifully, was crowned 4-year-old D pony Champion at the Cycle Classique show jumping finals in 2010!

His sire is the Dutch New-Forest stallion Kantje’s Ronaldo SL, blessed with fantastic papers, exceptional jumper and, above all, the current best sire of international winners in Europe, with 15 of his progeny having participated at the European Championships! Ronaldo achieved, during the course of his stud career, every accolade possible for a stallion: Keur, Prestatie Denkhengst, Preferent and Prestatie Fokhengst. He has produced 21 approved stallions.

His dam Bettina, Elite broodmare from the Schleswig-Holstein studbook, is considered to be one of the very best broodmares of her studbook. Beautifully proportioned, broad, with excellent bone and a good topline, she obtained the rare classification Elite based on the quality of her offspring. Having been successful in performance testing as a 3 year old before being dedicated to breeding, descended from the most influential sire in the breed studbook (the sire of Linaro, Losander, Kira, Geraldine…) and from the famous crossbreeding between Lombard and Bajar, she was always placed at the top of breed competitions. She is the half-sister on the dam’s side of the performance stallion Alcazar N and the dam of three stallions: the famous international performer Aron N SL, who jumped at four European Championships and is today considered to be an excellent sire (already having one of his progeny at the European Championships, sire of numerous winners in conformation and paces classes in France…) – (see his file on this site); and the dressage winner Menelaos. Two of her four daughters were classed as Elite, including Belle Amie, who finished first in performance tests with unpublished marks. In France, Bettina has produced: Narone de Florys (Linaro), gelding, IPO 145 in 2010, winner show jumping in D2 and D1P; Onantarone de Florys (Nantano), gelding, IPO 110 at 4-years-old, winner show jumping in D1P and E1P; Pharone de Florys (Nantano), dam of Tinotauros de Florys (Minotauros SL) before starting her sporting career, RE-MARK-ABLE jumper, winner in E1P; Quettino de Florys SL (Kantje’s Ronaldo SL); Sissi de Florys (Jimmerdor de Florys SL), 5-year-old mare, finalist as a 4-year-old; and Taronextera de Florys (Dexter Leam Pondi), 4-year-old mare. His sire Lombard is the all-time best German riding pony stallion of the Schleswig-Holstein studbook. Born in 1979 and dead at the age of 8-year-old in 1987, he has only 50 registered progeny, but amongst which 4 sons are stallions - from 20 males (i.e. 1/5th of his male production) and 10 daughters classed as ’Staatsprämien-Stute’ (the highest accolade reserved for the best mares in the studbook) - from 30 registered (i.e. 1/3 of his female production). Lombard is famous for having passed on a remarkable jumping ability: he is the sire of excellent winners such as Calinka, Laslo, Lorbas, Lord Liberty, Losander, Maja, Kira, Geraldine… In sport his progeny have accumulated 21,615€ of winnings and he has already been ranked amongst the 8 best sires of show jumpers in Germany.
