Stalypso

Biography:

Stalypso's pedigree contains Hanoverian bloodlines mixed with those of Hosteiner and Trakener. His father Stakkato goes back twice to the famous Gotthard. Via Servus he goes back to the Trakehner Semper Idem, via Pygmalion to the Trakehner Patras and Abglanz. Together with Eva Bitter Stakkato won the German Championships for young show jumpers (1998) and, since then, has been showing successfully through Grand Prix jumping competitions.

Stalypso's mother, St.Pr.St. Caracalla II, with her Holsteiner father Calypso II by the French Selle Francais Cor de la Bryère, was bred for jumping purposes. Via Grand Royal (going back to Grande and containing twice the Trakehner Abglanz) and then via Absatz by Abglanz, Stalypso also carries very famous dressage bloodlines. Caracalla finished her mare performance test with a final score of 8,0 (rideability 8,0, jumping 9,0) and was admitted in the Hanoverian Jumper Breeder Program (Hannoveraner-Springpferdeprogramm).

Already as a foal, Stalypso attracted much attention due to his striking light and elastic movements: At the foal show of PZV Ahnsen in June 2002 he won the class of the colts. But that wasn't it: In July 2002 he won the "Championships of the winner foals" of the Bezirksverband Lüneburg in Schillerslage.

Stalypso was sold (as "Sarioso") for 55,000 Euros at the Verden Foal Auction on August 31st, 2002 to the Stud Sprehe in Benstrup and thus topped the old price record.

At the Verden Stallion Licensing in October 2004 we saw him again. His exceptional trot and his outstanding jumping talent made him darling of the public. Stalypso was licensed, but he was not for sale.

In October 2005 Stalypso won the 30-day-stallion-test in Schliekau: he attained a jumping score of 9,975, a canter score of 8,70, a trot score of 8,5 and a rideability score of 8,9.

In November 2006, Stalypso was winner of the jumper stallions and was thus awarded 1a main premium at the Oldenburger Stallion Days.

In 2007 and 2008 Stalypso qualified for the German Championships of 5- and 6-year-old jumpers.

Offspring

Since 2005, Stalypso stands at stud in Bentstrup, Stud Sprehe. His first foals we born in 2006. Bay, good-looking and good movers, they were sold at good prices at foal auctions in Verden, Münster and Vechta.

At the international dressage and jumping festival in Verden at the end of July 2008, a filly by Stalypso/Escudo won the Hanoverian Foal Championships of the foals having jumping bloodlines. She got a "10" of all three judges!

Premium Stallions by Stalypso

In 2008 three stallions by Stalypso out of his first foal year were licensed.

In 2009 four stallions by Stalypso were licensed + awarded "Premium Stallion": At the licensing in Verden "Stanton" out of an Almox Prints I mother became premium stallion and was purchased by Haupt- and Landgestüt Marbach. In Redefin "Stylist" by Stalypso out of an Acorado mother became premium stallion, second-best of all stallions and the best jumper. He was purchased by the stud Schmidt in Neu-Benthen. Then there was a third premium stallion (1b premium) "Straviaty" by Stalypso out of a Couleur-Rubin-Carprilli mother at the Oldenburg licensing in Vechta. At the "Süddeutsche Hengsttage" in München-Riem a Westphalian branded Stalypso son "Sakrileg" out of a Sao Paulo-Legat-dam was awarded Premium Stallion and was sold for 97.000 Euros to Sissi Max-Theurer (Austria). Thus Stalypso produced with his 2nd foal year (offspring born in 2007) 4 licensed Premium Stallions!

In 2010 at the Körung in Verden Stalypso got his 5th Premium Stallion: this time a bay stallion out of a Esprit mare (Breeder: Lothar Ackermann, Exhihitor: Gestüt Sprehe).
